Wildblood And Queenie

Since Queenie’s fateful phone call asking Kate if they would be interested in them banging their bongos for their club night Shameless Hussies back in 1993, Wildblood and Queenie have been bringing the joy to each other and the many dancefloors of Brighton and beyond. A partnership that’s witnessed their home city change as it brought Pride, fought prejudice and delivered pleasure, Wildblood and Queenie’s archive marks the many sound adventures they’ve had together from those early club night’s Shameless Hussies and Housewife’s Choice to their deck adventures with The Candy Bar, Wild Fruit, Sunday Sundae, Electronic Disco, Audio, Patterns, and many more.

Accompanied with filter-free descriptions, this AuADHD take of dyke life in Brighton is a unique snapshot of lesbian nightlife history, the people behind the scene and the queer joy found on its dancefloors. A chance to see yourself at the front and appreciate the difference a decent bassline can make to couple’s lifetime together as they rewind to the 1990s, 2000s and the dancefloors (and three weddings) that made them.
